BC Telemark Seeking Two Important Volunteer Roles!

As the temperatures begin to get cooler, the sweatshirts start coming out, last years skis go on blow our prices, and snow begins to cover the mountain sides. The BC Telemark Board is also back at work looking ahead to a new season of great programs and special events.

Whistler Telemark Festival Coordinator

The Whistler Telemark Festival (WTF) has been BC Telemark’s top event for 4 years but had to take a ‘year off’ last season as no one stepped forward to organize and coordinate the event. As an organization BC Telemark is passionate about continuing to develop the community of Telemark Skiers in the Whistler and Vancouver area and would like to find a volunteer Coordinator to make this event happen annually. 

The WTF Coordinator will manage all aspects of the event. This person will schedule coaches, work with the ski area for pass discounts, communicate with and solicit sponsors, work with BC Telemark to market the event, be responsible for the day of operations and much more! 

The beauty of it, this event has been successfully run for 4 consecutive years. The person who fills this role will not be starting from scratch. There are resources and expertise in the organization to help this person succeed in organizing and developing a great event. 

BC Telemark must have a coordinator to continue this event.

BC Telemark President

The current President will be stepping down at the October AGM but will remain actively involved in various roles of the organization. The President has worked with a passionate and dedicated Board to develop BC Telemark into a successful organization with a strong membership and progressive programs. 

The volunteer role of President is responsible for the general management of all programs and events, financial management, management of the volunteer Board of Directors, and the overall development and management of the organization. 

The role of President does not require a unreasonable time commitment.

For BC Telemark to continue its operations and continue serving the community of Telemark skiers in BC, this role must be filled.
